[N5] Japanese Listening Practice | Everyday Dialogue with Furigana Welcome to our Japanese learning series! This video is designed for N5-level students who want to practice real-life conversational Japanese. In this long dialogue (over 70 sentences!), a restaurant owner, Kato-san, interviews Maria, a foreign student. They discuss her background, her time in Japan, her hobbies, and her love for both Japanese and Italian food. What's in this video: A full-length, natural conversation (70+ lines) On-screen Japanese text with Furigana for all Kanji A mini-quiz at the end to test your comprehension * Key Vocabulary: - 面接[めんせつ] (mensetsu): Interview. - 店長[てんちょう] (tenchō): Store manager. - 〜と申[もう]します (~to mōshimasu): My name is ~ (polite self-introduction). - 機会[きかい] (kikai): Opportunity. - 以前[いぜん] (izen): Previously, before. - 旅行[りょこう] (ryokō): Travel. - 新鮮[しんせん] (shinsen): Fresh (adjective). - 制服[せいふく] (seifuku): Uniform. - 結果[けっか] (kekka): Result. * Key Grammar: - [Noun]と申[もう]します ([noun] to mōshimasu): A very polite way to introduce one's name, common in formal settings like interviews (N5 level formal pattern). - [Action]て、ありがとうございます ([action]te, arigatō gozaimasu): A useful pattern to thank someone for an action they performed for you. (e.g., 来てくれて、ありがとうございます - Thank you for coming). - [Adjective] な [Noun] ([adjective] na [noun]): Using na-adjectives (e.g., 素敵[すてき]な国[くに]). The dialogue also uses i-adjectives like 難[むずか]しい (muzukashii) and 楽[たの]しい (tanoshii). - ~と言[い]います (to iimasu): A slightly more formal way to say one's name, or what something is called. - [Time]から[Time]まで ([time] kara [time] made): ""From [time] to [time].""
